Outreach Ministries and Events

In historic Christianity, the church was not simply a place where people came to worship on Sundays, although that was its central function to be sure. But the Church was also a cultural hub that offered the community a thriving place for fellowship. Here are a couple of things we have done or will be doing regularly.

Yard Sale, 26th and 27th
St. Stephen’s held their second annual rummage sale the last weekend of May 2017. It was a wonderful experience – we got to meet fellow Western New Yorkers, handed out information on the church, free hot dogs, and sold lots of good stuff in the sale. It was wonderful to interact with members of our community – we even had the honor of praying for some individuals and families who shared their challenges with us.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast, July 1st
We had our men’s prayer breakfast on July 1st at 9am. We opened with prayer, ate a bountiful feast of eggs, sausage, fruit, and bagels, with a guest appearance of French toast. Jack Millar, one of the congregants gave a talk on the responsibilities men have to be examples to their church community. We had a great time of fellowship with the men of the church. We plan to have future men’s prayer breakfast meetings as schedules allow – stay tuned!

Zumba Toning and Dance Classes, Mondays and Wednesdays 6-7:30
St. Stephen’s hosts a Zumba class instructed by Zumba-certified Marcia Warner. From 6-6:30, the warm-up and toning class is held, and the main Zumba class is held from 6:40 to 7:30. Come along and try it out!
